  4. The vehicle is fitted with sensors that detect the dimensions of the road allowing it to follow routes without the need for metal rails, according to the project engineers.

The economy grew 7.1 per cent in 2016-17, lower than 7.6 per cent against 8 per cent a year ago. The World Bank has forecast growth to be 7.2 per cent during 2017-18.

RBI lifts restriction on foreign investment in IDFC

Hence, the restrictions placed on the purchase of shares by FII/FPI of the above company, are withdrawn with immediate effect,”
  3. Foreign portfolio have take the invest of the 32.18% stake in IDFC Ltd as on 19 June, 2017. FIIs, NRIs and PIOs (Persons of Indian Origins) can invest in primary and secondary capital markets in India through PIS.
  4. The RBI monitors the ceilings on FII/NRI/PIO investments in Indian companies on a daily basis and has fixed the cut-off points two percentage points lower than the actual ceiling.

  4. On the lunar and solar missions, he said, “Chandrayaan-2 is “scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2018 (around March-April) and the Aditya (sun) mission in 2018-19. Work on both the interplanetary missions is going on”.

Anil Kumble steps down as India coach

United Nations Public Service Day

  1. The United Nations Public Service Day, every year is celebrated on June 23. On this day there is in the US the prestigious UN Public Service Awards are given.
  2. The UN Public Service Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly’s resolution A/RES/57/277 of 2003, main aim of this was, “celebrate the value and virtue of public service to the community”.
  3. The United Nations Economic and Social Council has been developed that United Nations Public Service Awards be bestowed on Public Service Day for contributions made to the cause of enhancing the role, prestige, and visibility of public service.
