Indian Economic Association is the complement of the body of Indian economic professionals, established way back in the year 1917, and the main aim of this project is to providing a forum for debate and discussion of policy-oriented issues. The Association currently has 5000 plus members, both individual and institutional.

Farmers and small producers in rural areas use Internet connectivity to contact buyers in distant locations and make themselves aware of the real value of their products.”

They can expand the circle of knowledge as well as make quality healthcare and diagnosis available even in distant areas. Agriculture Minister Launches Livestock Disease Forewarning (LDF) Mobile App

  1. Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Shri Radha Mohan Singh has launched Livestock Disease Forewarning -Mobile Application (LDF-Mobile App), that is developed by ICAR-National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics (ICAR-NIVEDI), Bengaluru, in New Delhi.
  2. During the launch, Union Agriculture Minister has given the instruction that the dreaded Rinderpest disease has been eradicated from India and and in that there has been the some of just like that effort must be need to control and eradicate diseases like FMD, PPR, Brucellosis, CSF, BT, HS etc., which cause huge economic loss annually to the livestock rearers and livestock industry as a whole.
  3. Union Agriculture Minister said has stated that the ICAR-NIVEDI has identified 13 priority diseases that has recognise at the base of last pattern and that has put the strong database of these diseases and has been providing monthly livestock disease alerts to the state and central animal husbandry departments.
  4. Shri Singh said that there has to be need to reach at the, ICAR-NIVEDI developed the app and used Monthly Bulletin system to send out early warning. Shri Singh said that is of the complex type of the algoritham that is to be used considers both climatic and non-climatic factors and categorizes districts into Very High Risk, High Risk, Moderate Risk, Low Risk, Very Low Risk and No Risk for a particular disease so that stakeholders can effectively plan and utilize the available resources.

SBI Gets Board Approval to Raise Rs 8,000 crore to Comply Basel III

  1. State Bank of India on Wednesday it has got the approval for the fund of the raise upto the Rs 8,000 crore to meet Basel III capital adequacy norms through various instruments, including masala bonds.
  2. The state-run lender said that it has given the time till the March 2018 to raise the funds required to meet the Basel III capital adequacy norms put in place to guard against a repeat of the situation following the 2008 US financial crisis.
  3. “The Central Board at its meeting held today accorded approval to raise additional tier 1 (AT 1) capital by way of issuance of Basel III compliant debt instruments in USD and/or INR to the tune of Rs 8,000 crore from domestic/international market including masala bonds,” the SBI said in a stock exchange filing.
  4. The main aim of this is to implement the international compensation standards aimed at ending practices that lead to excessive risk-taking, to improve the over-the-counter derivatives market and to create more powerful tools to hold large global firms to account for the risks they take.

India Successfully Test-Fires AAD Supersonic Interceptor Missile

  1. India on Thursday has successfully test-fired of the one of the best-developed advanced air defence (AAD) supersonic interceptor missile, which has the capacity to destroying an incoming ballistic missile at low altitude.
  2. “The interceptor missile successfully hit an incoming ballistic missile head-on at an altitude of 35 km. The test was carried out from a test range in the country’s eastern state of Odisha,” official sources said.
  3. “It was a direct hit and grand success. Today’s test was conducted to validate various parameters of the interceptor in flight mode and it was all success,” defence sources said after the test launch.
  4. This test was the third supersonic interceptor test carried out by India this year in which an incoming ballistic missile target was successfully intercepted. Earlier, two similar tests were conducted in February and March this year.

  4. Paytm has not claims that it has the 100 million users, but it is a common mistake that people would make while checking information about the number of app installs. The count also does not take into account the number of times a user had to format their device or even download the app on their new smartphone which switching from their old device.

India to Overtake UK, France to Become 5th-Largest Economy in 2018

  1. India will “leapfrog” Britain and France and has become the world’s fifth largest economy in 2018, it has the increment in the economic shift towards Asia, according to a British research organisation.
  2. “The World Economic League Table shows that despite temporary setbacks from demonetisation and the introduction of the new GST tax, India’s economy will still catch up with that of France and the UK and in 2018 will have overtaken them both to become the world’s fifth largest economy in dollar terms,” said CEBR Deputy Chairman Douglas McWilliams.
  3. The world’s largest economies now are the US ($19.362 trillion), China ($11.937 trillion), Japan ($4.884 trillion), Germany ($3.652 trillion), France ($2.575 trillion), Britain ($2.565 trillion) and India, according to the IMF.
  4. “The interesting trend emerging is that by 2032, five of the 10 largest economies will be in Asia, while European economies will be falling down the ranking and the US will lose its top spot,” CEBR Senior Economist Oliver Kolodseike said.
  5. “Construction’s share of world GDP is to reach its highest level ever, driven by ultra large global transformational projects,” Graham Robinson, director of Global Construction Perspectives, said.
  6. “The Chinese Belt and Road Initiative and the Indian infrastructural project will boost construction’s share of world GDP to 15 per cent by 2032, probably the highest share of world GDP construction has seen since the pyramids or Great Wall of China were built.”

  1. The time when the bitcoins are in focus for the wrong reasons, cryptocurrency dealer Pluto Exchange on Thursday announced the launch of India’s first mobile application for transacting in virtual currencies.
  2. At a press conference here, Pluto Exchange founder and Chief Executive Bharat Verma said his company is all set to launch the country’s first app-based wallet that enables bitcoin transactions using a mobile number.
  3. “The Pluto Exchange mobile app offers a solution to the coordination problem between payment processors, financial gateways and banks,” Verma said. “All other apps already in the market do transactions using bitcoin addresses, which are long and prone to error while copying. Pluto Exchange will change this scenario by enabling transactions using mobile numbers only, which are just 10 digits,” he said.
  4. “By using a four-digit personal identification number (PIN), users can now buy, sell, store and spend bitcoins via a mobile number,” Verma added.
